(I believe)

shadow in shoes

Reflections by: Yunus Emre Uzun

Pausing briefly, he watched as a roil of dark blood swirled into the amber cocktail he had drawn up into the syringe, before steadily depressing the plunger.  A small voice from somewhere within his subconscious might have whispered, “Too much.” But just then, it felt way too good to listen.

At that moment, (I believe) it seemed to him that time stood still, and the Soul of the World surged within him.  Enraptured by the warmth of the souls collective embrace- he left me. With little more than an empty heart, and the proverbial shoes no man could ever fill.

This is what happened when I combined Sadje’s What Do You See photo prompt with the literary quote from 50 Word Thursday this week. The quote was:

“At that moment, it seemed to him that time stood still, and the Soul of the World surged within him.” – Paulo Coelho – The Alchemist.
