Hearing the other kids call her family poor didn’t bother her anymore. Even at Christmas. Moira was used to pinching what she needed to get in to the holiday spirit. A piece of mistletoe here, a candy cane there, the use of a bicycle when the situation called for it- but that damn Santa’s Helper costume for the Christmas Bike Parade was always a nightmare!
This year was going to be different though. Her brother Joey had promised her a costume- even if he had to knock someone out to get it.
And he did.
