as i lie awake, at night
in the tv’s after glow
past strung out
like photographs
light flickering, just so…
silent movies
brought to life
on my minds silver screen
celluloid imbued memories
things that may
or may not have been…
accuracy no longer matters
as it all plays out
in black and white
our love affair
edited to perfection…
as i lie awake, at night
Beautifully written Violet, this took me where you wanted it to take the reader❤️

Thank you Jude. This was an older piece I reworked, so I am glad it achieved its goal….

I like this; I like that repeat at the end. It reminds me of something, though I’m not sure what, just something that fills me with pleasure.

Wow! You’ve created the perfect visual scene. How many time we do relive our past, trying to make it perfect.

I like this a lot. I especially like:
“silent movies
brought to life
on my minds silver screen
celluloid imbued memories
things that may
or may not have been…”
Isn’t it interesting where the mind goes when everything goes silent and still?

Thank you Barry. I think we all have rose colored memories that we find equally if not more gratifying than the real ones….
