Anita decided to forgo any mention of her birthday this year.
At her age, the passing of yet another year had become more a pause for reflection than a cause for celebration- and truth be told- she needed little prodding in the direction of reflection.
Just when her career began revolving around her ‘back in the day’ successes and her nights became a time for communing with the smooth, lustful bodies of men she had known in her youth, she was unsure.
But she was willing to bet, it was right about the time she decided to give up chocolate…..
This piece, written in exactly 100 words, is my response to Susan’s call for posts conjured by the word, celebration, this week on Genre Scribes.

Chocolate isn’t bad for you. It’s everything that goes with it. Like cake.

Nah, moderation’s impossible with chocolate. You vomit first. Or I do. But then I’m not over-keen on chocolate 🙂

Sugar is the only ‘drug’ I am allowed these days, and I find myself attacking it with the same ferocity with which I attacked all others that crossed my path… Ode to addictions……

Unfortunately sugar now is poison to me. Give me cream. Give me cheese. Give me coffee. Yay, coffee in now my sole addiction. Ah, and cheese.

I am gradually getting back into coffee, but my transient lifestyle makes instant my most viable option, and something wonderful is just lost when you go that route….

When one considers the alternative, I think Anita’s got it pretty good. Well accept for the giving up chocolate part. That really sucks… and yes, I am preoccupied with chocolate lately aren’t I?
