nestled warmly
in between
my feather beds
and comforters
it occurred to me
that there is no place
i would rather be
than right here
right now
doing just
what i am doing.
such revelation
brought with it
a calm
a feeling of
belonging
a sense that
all is as it should be.
and the caged bird
that had been
beating furiously
in my chest-
has finally
come to rest.

Nothing compares to finding this feeling.

To say brilliant and other such things is superfluous. I’ve just been praising your ability to pen strong poetry. with rhymes and rhythm and feet, to my daughter. And here’s another example.

Hi! Great poem, great picture. π It sounds like I’m to expect the opening of Violet’s Re-Discovery Retreat within the next five years.

The imagery of the caged bird as a heart is so vivid! Wonderful.
