Rainbow Train (Parody of Runaway Train)

I woke up in the middle of the night
Grabbed a smoke but the filter wouldn’t light
Kinda’ smelled like a scorched pot burning
Wicked stench got my guts all churning
So loud that the dogs couldn’t sleep
That really made me feel like a creep
Stomach lurched nearly made me weep
So much for that lunch I couldn’t keep
I’m dead ass tired, but I’m up now
I need to sleep
But the dogs want out
Took a step and something led my foot astray
Rainbow train you’re freaking going back
You and your piece of crap track
You’re gonna wish you’d got put somewhere
Cuz now you’re never gonna get there
Eyes roll back, crack a sick little smile
I’m gonna make this night seem worthwhile
I’ve become the definition of jaded`
Little train you’re about to get faded
I’ll put you where no one else can go
I’ll know what no one else will know
Here I am just laughing in the rain
As I jump on a rainbow train

Runaway Train

Soul Asylum

Call you up in the middle of the night
Like a firefly without a light
You were there like a slow torch burning
I was a key that could use a little turning
So tired that I couldn’t even sleep
So many secrets I couldn’t keep
Promised myself I wouldn’t weep
One more promise I couldn’t keep
It seems no one can help me now
I’m in too deep
There’s no way out
This time I have really led myself astray
Runaway train never going back
Wrong way on a one way track
Seems like I should be getting somewhere
Somehow I’m neither here nor there
Can you help me remember how to smile
Make it somehow all seem worthwhile
How on earth did I get so jaded
Life’s mystery seems so faded
I can go where no one else can go
I know what no one else knows
Here I am just drownin’ in the rain
With a ticket for a runaway train
